Feeding Families News - 2017

Feeding Families Ministry has provided a year of nonstop blessing and care to the people of their community.  And without the care and generosity of so many people, this outreach would not be possible.  The Community Church in Mount Pocono's food drive helped many families enjoy a Christmas dinner.  The Bible Fellowship church in Mt. Pocono were also continuing partners this year in helping feed those in need.  Pocono Vacation Bureau sponsored a food drive to help the outreach efforts of Feeding Families this year as well.

News stations spread the news this year and promoted the efforts of Feeding Families Ministry such as Blueridge CATV 3..came to interview us about the Second Harvest Food Bank's new truck for our deliveries.

The dedicated volunteers of Feeding Families Ministry  work constantly and tirelessly at fundraising, collecting donations and distributing them, making survival bags for those in need and those who are homeless, and have even staffed the Pocono Summit Bingo games to help the community.  We invite you to join us in helping other in 2018.  We guarantee you will be as blessed as those who you are helping. Thank you to all who have been a part of Feeding Families Ministry in 2017!

May 13, 2016:  Founder and Director Diane McFadzean was awarded the annual Woman of the Year award by the General Federation of Women's Clubs!  They hosted their annual conference at the Hershey Sheraton Hotel in Harrisburg.  Women from each local chapter were represented at this 3-day conference.  Diane was nominated by her family and webmaster Nancy Quinn, who presented an application and letter regarding her selfless service to those in need in our communities.  Applications were presented to a panel of the GFWC members where Diane was chosen as the winner.  We already think of her as our Woman of the Year, and it was very exciting to see her be honored with this special award!
March 2016:  Feeding Families Ministry made history on March 9th by receiving an order of food well over 14,000 pounds!  Many thanks to everyone who stepped in to make this a reality - the volunteers of Pocono Summit Volunteer Fire Department and Chaplin Alvin Rich,  Ed Day, Tony Insalata, Ryan Ogle, Deb, and our site Director John Hynes.  This was a huge undertaking and our volunteers are appreciated.  The number of families in need that this food will bless is wonderful!
Most of us look forward to the holiday season – a time of gift-giving, delicious family meals and warm memories. However, for some less fortunate residents of our community, the holidays are a stressful time, with money concerns often looming over the brightness of the holiday seasons.

Feeding Families Ministry provides a glimmer of hope through these difficult economic times with outreach programs for Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter holidays to encourage the families of our communities with a holiday meal.

The volunteers of Feeding Families Ministry enjoy serving the Lord together and volunteers are honored on their birthdays with a cake and food, and we celebrate the holidays together.  We invite you to view our holiday photo albums to see the work that God is doing through Feeding Families Ministry and we invite you to be a part of this powerful ministry that reaches out a helping hand to your neighbors in need!
